Location: Sentul, Kuala Lumpur
Currently under an urban revival master plan, Sentul City is still lacking in many urban design aspects and negligent in many areas. This community library is envisioned to mimic an ideal city complex and present the key attributes of a good city to its visitors with the hope to ultimately inform the city towards a better city. Walkability, connectivity, diversity.
This is the first design project with urban setting. The scope and direction of site analysis is different and wider. Critical thinking plays an integral role throughout the project to answer the right questions to the project. Designed with the consideration for construction and performance aspects, the level of detail in the project is a step closer to the reality of working environment. The project is also a challenge to nurture the design concept into a functional principle conveyed in the spatial experiences.
