location: the Paddock, Fraser's Hill
Using the the character and location from the previous project, this project requires us to design a retreat house for our respective character. After analyzing the characteristic of my character - James Bond, I was inspired to design a retreat house that will not only allow him to escape from his chaotic lifestyle but also, as a space that connect Bond with others. The house is Bond's personal social space.
Sitting on the edge of cliff, the house has cantilevered platform and a simple form. The house responds to the site by having different types of facade on different elevation. The difference is decided by the various natural elements on the site. As such, horizontal element emerge dominant in the the house with lourves covering most part of the house.
